During their interview, Tim talked to Jimmy and Henrik about why they decided to participate in this year’s contest, the creative process for “Så kommer känslorna tillbaka”, as well as their early memories of Eurovision and their favourite entries, as well as the potential of recording a cover of “Dschinghis Khan”
Casanovas is a dansband that was formed in 1989 by Jimmy Lindberg after a win in a dans band competition in 1989. However, it was not until 2006 when the band picked up momentum when Henrik Sethsson joined the band. During the pandemic Henrik wroteand produced the song ”Mota Olle i grind (Amanda Lind)” for the band, where it ended up being voted as Song of the Year at Guldklaven.
Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since its debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win six times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, and 2015).
In 2022, Sweden was represented by Cornelia Jakobs, who won the 61st edition of the competition and competed with the song “Hold Me Closer”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final and placed 4th with 438 points from the jury and televoters.
