We are just over two months away to finding out who will be Luna’s successor and the next Dutch representative at Junior Eurovision. As Junior Songfestival goes on, the latest episode saw the finalists being revealed.
Four Acts competing to be the next Dutch Junior Eurovision representative
A couple of weeks ago, the latest season of Junior Songfestival saw the individual finalists being selected after the Songfestival Academy took place. In the latest episode, we see the finalists being split into four acts, who will then go on and compete for the right to represent The Netherlands in Nice.
The Four Acts competing in the Junior Songfestival 2023 final are:
- JOY! (AimΓ©e, Gina & Sana) – Trio
- Duron – Soloist
- Flare (Hannah, Robine & Jikke) – Trio
- Jasmin & Sep – Duo
After the reveal of the acts, the entries that they will be comepting in is set to be released over the next few weeks, with the live final set to take place on September 23.
The Netherlandsβ Junior Eurovision Journey
The Netherlands has participated in every edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since its inception, first taking part in 2003. The country’s first entry came in the form of Roel, singing “Mijn ogen zeggen alles”. At the close of voting, the Netherlands finished in 11th place, earning 23 points. Since then, the Netherlands have taken part another 18 times, earning one victory in 2009 with Ralf Mackenbach singing “Click-Clack”.
In 2022, the Netherlands were represented by Luna with her song “La Festa” in Yerevan. Once the combined scores were revealed, the Netherlands finished in 7th place. They received 58 points from the jury vote, and 70 from the public vote.
