We are just over three months away to finding out who will be Luna’s successor and the next Dutch representative at Junior Eurovision. As Junior Songfestival goes on, the latest episode this season saw the finalists remaining in this year’s selection revealed.
Nine finalists competing to be the next Dutch Junior Eurovision representative
In the latest episode of Junior Songfestival, former Dutch Junior Eurovision representatives took turns to surprise the successful participants and reveal to them that they have made it to the next stage of this year’s competition.
The finalists for Junior Songfestival 2023, in the order in which they were revealed are as follows:
- Sana
- Duron
- Jikke
- Gina
- Jasmijn
- Hannah
- Aimée
- Sep
- Robine
The nine finalists would then be split into four acts, and would then have a entry written for them. The entries are set to be revealed in due course, with the live final set to take place on September 23.
The Netherlands’ Junior Eurovision Journey
The Netherlands has participated in every edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since its inception, first taking part in 2003. The country’s first entry came in the form of Roel, singing “Mijn ogen zeggen alles”. At the close of voting, the Netherlands finished in 11th place, earning 23 points. Since then, the Netherlands have taken part another 18 times, earning one victory in 2009 with Ralf Mackenbach singing “Click-Clack”.
In 2022, the Netherlands were represented by Luna with her song “La Festa” in Yerevan. Once the combined scores were revealed, the Netherlands finished in 7th place. They received 58 points from the jury vote, and 70 from the public vote.
