🇳🇱 TES Previews: Who are Sep and Jasmijn?

Junior Eurovision in Nice is now less than a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Junior Eurovision journey so far. Next up, we will preview The Netherlands’ 2023 representatives Sep and Jasmijn.

Sep and Jasmijn’s Junior Eurovision Journey So Far…

Duo, Sep and Jasmijn were chosen to represent The Netherlands at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 following AVROTROS’ national final Junior Songfestival 2023. Sep and Jasmijn will represent The Netherlands in Nice with their song “Holding On To You”.

Who are Sep and Jasmijn?

Sep and Jasmijn are a duo from that were formed at the audition stage of Junior Songfestival, after it was felt their voices blended nicely together. Jasmijn has competed on TV talent shows before – reaching the final of the 2023 edition of “Ministars”. Sep in his spare time also likes to play the piano.

The Netherlands’ Junior Eurovision Journey

The Netherlands has participated in every edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since its inception, first taking part in 2003. The country’s first entry came in the form of Roel, singing “Mijn ogen zeggen alles”. At the close of voting, the Netherlands finished in 11th place, earning 23 points. Since then, the Netherlands have taken part another 18 times, earning one victory in 2009 with Ralf Mackenbach singing “Click-Clack”.

In 2022, the Netherlands were represented by Luna with her song “La Festa” in Yerevan. Once the combined scores were revealed, the Netherlands finished in 7th place. They received 58 points from the jury vote, and 70 from the public vote.
