As we get closer to this year’s Junior Eurovision, we are starting to get the final details of this yearโ€™s contest, including the spokespersons. The next country to reveal their spokesperson this year is The Netherlands, as AVROTROS confirms that Luna will be presenting the countryโ€™s 12 Jury points.

A return to the contest after their participation in Yerevan

Luna’s appointment as the Dutch spokesperson for Junior Eurovision 2023 was revealed on Junior Songfestival’s social media accounts, in the midst of the delegations preparations for its participation in Nice, with Luna expressing her excitement saying she can’t wait.

In 2022, Luna represented The Netherlands with her entry “La Festa” in Yerevan. Once the combined scores were revealed, The Netherlands finished in 7th place.

Junior Eurovision 2023 landed in Nice after France won the competition for a second time in Yerevan, represented by Lissandro with โ€œOh Mamanโ€. This yearโ€™s competition will take place on the 26th of November at 16:00CET, at the Palais Nikaรฏa.

The Netherlands’ Junior Eurovision Journey

The Netherlands has participated in every edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since its inception, first taking part in 2003. The country’s first entry came in the form of Roel, singing “Mijn ogen zeggen alles”. At the close of voting, the Netherlands finished in 11th place, earning 23 points. Since then, the Netherlands have taken part another 18 times, earning one victory in 2009 with Ralf Mackenbach singing “Click-Clack”.

In 2022, the Netherlands were represented by Luna with her song “La Festa” in Yerevan. Once the combined scores were revealed, the Netherlands finished in 7th place. They received 58 points from the jury vote, and 70 from the public vote.
