Today rehearsals for Junior Eurovision 2023 continue in Nice. Countries rehearsing on Day 2 include Ireland, Albania, Poland, France, Spain and Italy The fifth country to rehearse today is Spain’s Sandra Valero.
What did we learn about Sandra’s staging?

Sandra Valero’s staging is all-action, with four backing dancers adding movement and life to the stage. The background is as dynamic as the staging, switching between brought colours, city scenes, and fireworks. The energy is high, and it is full of colour.

Who is Sandra Valero?
Sandra Valero is a twelve-year-old singer, actress, and model from Valencia, Spain. She’s no stranger to the stage; she began singing at the age of four and has already appeared on Idol Kids and Spain’s edition of The Voice Kids. She has also appeared in the musical The Bodyguard and is currently appearing in The Jungle Book as Mowgli before heading to Nice. Her father, uncle, and grandparents all work in the music industry, giving her connections very early on.
In 2023, Sandra was announced as Spain’s JESC representative all the way back in July. Her entry “LOVIU”, where she sings in not only Spanish but also English, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
Spain’s Junior Eurovision Journey
Spain has taken part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest a total of 8 times, and was one of the first countries to participate back in 2003. In the initial contest, Spain was represented by Sergio singing “Desde el cielo”, and at the close of voting Spain finished in second place, earning 125 points. Spain would go on to win the second edition of the show with MarÃa Isabel’s “Antes Muerte Que Sencilla”, finishing with 171 points.
Spain’s most recent participation was in 2022, when Carlos Higes represented the nation with his song “Señorita” in Yerevan. At the close of voting, Spain finished 6th in a field of 16 participants. Spain earned 137 points – 78 of which came from the online vote. The remaining 59 points were awarded by professional juries across Europe.
