Luxembourg is continuing its preparations for Luxembourg Song Contest 2024. As the artists gear up for the final on January 27th, Tim speaks to CHAiLD. He is vying to represent Luxembourg in Malmö with his song “Hold On”.

During their interview, Tim and CHAiLD talked about the recording process of “Hold On”, his love for Sanremo, what we could expect on stage this weekend, as well as revealing what it would mean to him if he gets the opportunity to represent Luxembourg in Malmö.

About CHAiLD

CHAiLD is a young up-and-coming electro-pop artist based in Brussels, cherished for his captivating stage presence. He has released numerous singles, since 2019, including his EP “Urgent Care” in 2023. He will be competing at Luxembourg Song Contest with his entry “Hold On”, which was written and produced by Peter Boström, Thomas G:son and Jimmy Jansson.

Luxembourg’s Eurovision Journey

Luxembourg first made its debut in the first edition of the Contest in 1956, with their first entries being “Ne crois pas” and “Les amants de minuit”, both performed by Michèle Arnaud. Since the first Contest, Luxembourg has competed a total of 37 times. Their best result was finishing in 1st place five times – in 1961, 1965, 1972, 1973 and 1983 respectively.

Luxembourg last took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, when Modern Times represented the nation with the song “Donne-moi une chance”. At the close of voting, Luxembourg finished 20th in a field of 25 with 11 points. Following this participation, Luxembourg withdrew from the Contest, but is returning to the Contest in time for 2024.
