It’s now just one day until Melodifestivalen 2024 starts! Tim had the chance to chat with Elisa Lindström earlier in the week. Elisa will be bringing the schlager to Melodifestivalen this weekend with her song “Forever Yours”.
Check out our interview with Elisa Lindström here:
10 years after her first entry to Melodifestivalen, Tim talks with her about her experiences and what she has learned over her career so far. They also cover her song for this year and her exciting plans for staging “Forever Yours” this weekend.
Who is Elisa Lindström?
Elisa Lindström is a 32 year old singer from Sweden, who has performed both solo and part of her dansband ‘Elisa’s’. She started her career by competing in Lila Melodifestivalen (the Junior version of Melodifestivalen) with the group Lali in 2005. Her previous entries to Melodifestivalen include “Casanova” in 2014 and “Den Du Är” in 2021.
Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2023, Loreen returned to represent Sweden, who won the 2012 edition of the competition. She competed with the song “Tattoo”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final, and placed 1st with 583 points. Loreen won the jury vote, accruing 340 points from the jury, earning an additional 243 points from the televote. This now means Sweden matches Ireland for the record of most wins in Eurovision history.
