With the release of Cyprus’ Eurovision entry “Liar” just days away, Silia Kapsis has dropped a teaser of the song to share what the track is set to be like.

“Liar” is due to be released by Cypriot broadcaster CyBC on February 29th. But ahead of the reveal, which is one week away – Silia released a snippet of the song to get fans excited.
In the snippet of the music video, Silia is joined by two backing dancers as she walks through a palatial hotel-style building. Wearing a golden crop jacket and a pair of baggy golden trousers, she and her dancers perform a routine to a breakdown of the song’s chorus. Silia sings: “‘Cos you’re a liar. Liar, liar, liar”.
The song is a mid-tempo track that uses loud bass sounds that provides a fresh production. There are hints of electronica in the genre, as Silia’s voice is put on full display. At the end of the clip, we hear a small belt from Kapsis as she finishes off her choreography and continues walking.
16-year-old Silia will perform the song “Liar” in Malmö in May. The track was written by Eurovision hitmaker Dimitris Kontopoulos, alongside Elke Tiel. After she was announced to represent Cyprus, Australian-born Silia said:

Cyprus’ Eurovision journey
The Mediterranean nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981, where Island participated with the song “Monika” and place 6th. Since then, Cyprus has participated 39 times (32 of which where they qualified for the Grand Final).
In 2023, CyBC internally selected Andrew Lambrou to represent them in Liverpool with the song “Break A Broken Heart”. During their participation in Liverpool, Andrew qualified for the final, before going on to finish in 12th place with a total of 126 points. The juries gave Cyprus 68 points, whilst the televote awarded Andrew 58 points.
