As we now have the songs competing for this year’s competition in Malmö, the team at That Eurovision Site will be reacting to the entries that will be participating at Eurovision 2024. The next entry we will be reacting to is Cyprus, who will be competing in this year’s competition with “Liar” by Silia Kapsis.

Our thoughts on “Liar”

In this series, we will be providing our opinions in two methods. One of our team members will be reacting on video, which you can see below, whilst up to three other members will be giving their written opinion on the entry. Shiloh will be on the main seat and will be giving his reaction to “Liar”

What did the other members of the team think of “Liar”?

Jazzi : This is a song that is actually really growing on me. This is fun and energetic and I enjoy this the more I listen to it. It would be a great opener to get the crowd going in Semi-Final One in Malmö. Also from the music video I get the feeling Silia will bring a fun and dynamic performance to the stage.

Daniel: Cyprus have a really good history in Eurovision with girlbops with the likes of Ivi Amadou, Eleni Foureira, Tamta and Elena Tsirigou but unfortunately I think this is an exception to the rule. The song feels really phoned in to me, it’s like they got an upbeat track and decided to call it a day. The whole thing feels messy and not to the high level we know Cyprus are capable of, sadly this is right towards the wrong end of my rankings.
