As we now have the songs competing for this year’s competition in Malmö, the team at That Eurovision Site will be reacting to the entries that will be participating at Eurovision 2024. The next entry we will be reacting to is San Marino, who will be competing in this year’s competition with “11:11” by MEGARA.
Our thoughts on “11:11”
In this series, we will be providing our opinions in two methods. One of our team members will be reacting on video, which you can see below, whilst up to three other members will be giving their written opinion on the entry. Tim will be on the main seat and will be giving his reaction to “11:11”
What did the other members of the team think of “11:11”?
Jazzi : I really like this actually I think MEGARA will absolutely nail this live, they proved at Benidorm Fest last season they are amazing performers and I think this could surprise in May and even sneak into the final. It’s a good fun rock entry that if the music video is anything to go by will bring great energy on stage in Malmö.
Angus: An all-around fun track that brings a lot of attitude musically, and we’ve seen at Benidorm and in Una Voce that MEGARA are more than able to bring that in their performance as well. Whenever I listen to this song, I always have to remind myself that we’re getting this at Eurovision, something about that is just so unbelievable to me even though it is a great song for the contest. San Marino are up against some stiff competition in their semi-final, but I personally see this qualifying and potentially getting the microstate’s best result in the contest yet.

San Marino’s Eurovision Journey
As one of the smallest countries in Europe, San Marino made its debut in the competition in 2008 with Miodio and the song “Complice”. Since then they have participated in the competition 13 times (3 of which where they qualified for the Grand Final), and their best result was in 2019, with Serhat and “Say Na Na Na”.
Italian band Piqued Jacks represented San Marino in 2023 in Liverpool with the song “Like An Animal”. The band performed in the second semi-final, but unfortunately didn’t qualify for the Grand Final. Overall, San Marino placed joint-last, receiving 0 points from the televote.
