As we now have the songs competing for this year’s competition in Malmö, the team at That Eurovision Site will be reacting to the entries that will be participating at Eurovision 2024. The next entry we will be reacting to is Sweden, who will be competing in this year’s competition with “Unforgettable” by Marcus & Martinus.
Our thoughts on “Unforgettable”
In this series, we will be providing our opinions in two methods. One of our team members will be reacting on video, which you can see below, whilst up to three other members will be giving their written opinion on the entry. Tim will be on the main seat and will be giving his reaction to “Unforgettable”
What did the other members of the team think of “Unforgettable”?
Jazzi : I enjoy this more than I enjoy a lot of Sweden’s male pop led entries in the past. I think the staging is fine, nothing needs to be tweaked at all for the contest. I actually think this has potential jury winner vibes, it’s clean, it’s polished but is also fun and engaging with the audience. I do worry a bit like Benjamin Ingrosso in 2018 about whether this will struggle with the televote. I really enjoy the last 20 or so seconds of this song, I wish that part lasted longer.
Kittens: Marcus & Martinus have a good thing going here. A slickly produced pop banger with perfect moves and a polished performance. I do worry a bit that it’s almost a bit too polished and might slide by voters brains in this banger-heavy year, but for me personally it slaps, gonna be dancing to it and screaming it on a dancefloor near you!

Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2023, Loreen returned to represent Sweden, who won the 2012 edition of the competition. She competed with the song “Tattoo”, which managed to qualify for the Grand Final, and placed 1st with 583 points. Loreen won the jury vote, accruing 340 points from the jury, earning an additional 243 points from the televote. This now means Sweden matches Ireland for the record of most wins in Eurovision history.
