As we now have the songs competing for this year’s competition in Malmö, the team at That Eurovision Site will be reacting to the entries that will be participating at Eurovision 2024. The next entry we will be reacting to is Australia, who will be competing in this year’s competition with “One Milkali (One Blood)” by Electric Fields.
Our thoughts on “One Milkali (One Blood)”
In this series, we will be providing our opinions in two methods. One of our team members will be reacting on video, which you can see below, whilst up to three other members will be giving their written opinion on the entry. Tim will be on the main seat and will be giving his reaction to “One Milkali (One Blood)”
What did the other members of the team think of “One Milkali (One Blood)”?
Jazzi : This is another song this year that I enjoy the more I listen to it. The chorus actually becomes pretty memorable after a few listens. This is also a side to Australia that we haven’t yet seen in the contest. I really hope this qualifies in May, because I feel Australia are actually taking big risks with this entry and they deserve to be rewarded for doing so.
Angus: Electric Fields finally make it to the Eurovision stage, and with what a lovely song too. The chorus is catchy and towards the end the track builds beautifully, creating a really rich soundscape. Plus, I am always happy to hear a didgeridoo. That being said, for all the quality this song has I could see it struggling to connect with viewers, which could spell trouble in the semi-final barring some great staging. If it does qualify, it should however do fairly okay in the final.

Australia’s Eurovision Journey
The most recent country to debut into the Eurovision Song Contest, Australia debuted in 2015. Guy Sebastian represented the land down-under with his entry “Tonight Again” in Vienna, where they managed to place 5th. Since their debut, they have participated every single year of the competition.
In 2023, Voyager were internally selected to represent Australia with their entry “Promise”. Performing in the second semi-final, Australia finished first in the semi-final, qualifying for the Grand Final. The band eventually finished in 9th place, receiving 151 points – 21 from the televote and 130 from the juries.
