According to Swiss outlet Blick, a meeting will be held at SRG SSR later today (July 18th) to narrow down the host city shortlist to two potential cities. The final host city shortlist will then be revealed to the public on Friday July 19th.
How the decision will be made
The decision of which two cities will make the shortlist will be made by a steering committee at SRG SSR. The steering committee is headed up by Gilles Marchand. Press spokesperson Edi Estermann said to Blick the following
“Am Freitagvormittag werden wir diesen Entscheid dann kommunizieren”
“We will communicate this decision on Friday morning,”
According to Blick, the cities with the greatest chance of making the shortlist are Geneva and Zürich, but a final decision on this will be made today.

Switzerland will be hosting the 69th edition of the competition following Nemo’s historic win at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö. A few weeks after their win, Reto Peritz, and Moritz Stadler, was announced as the Executive Producers, with the other roles revealed in July 2024.

With the bidding period now over, the candidate cities will now present their bid, with site visits commenced at the beginning of July. By the end of July 2024, SRG SSR is set to reveal the two potential host cities that are still in the running, with the winning Eurovision 2025 host city to be revealed by the end of August.
