🇱🇺 Eurovision songwriting camp to be held in Luxembourg

The 3-day songwriting camp will start on September 27th, and take place at Rocklab studios at Rockhal, the venue for the Luxembourg Song Contest.

The camp is organised by Greig Watts, who has Eurovision experience with Poland in 2017, Azerbaijan in 2020, and Destiny’s Maltese entry in 2021. as well as Imad Eljattari, founder of LinkinTrax, who has experience with songs such as Devil In The Detail from Luxembourg Song Contest 2024.

The camp is in association with Kultur lx, Sacem Luxembourg, and Arts Council of Luxembourg.

Confirmed writers and producers include Linda Dale (The Code, Queen of Kings), Abi F Jones (Lights Off) and Pete Barringer (Je Me Casse, Flashlight, My Turn)

What is a songwriting camp?

Put simply, a place where artists and writers come together and write and produce music.

Eurovision specific songwriting camps have existed for a number of years now. The Eurovision 2024 winner, The Code by Nemo, originated in a songwriting camp in Switzerland. Sadly, there are seemingly no tents or s’mores involved.

Luxembourg’s Eurovision History

Luxembourg first made its debut in the first edition of the Contest in 1956, with their first entries being “Ne crois pas” and “Les Amants de minuit”, both performed by Michèle Arnaud. Since the first Contest, Luxembourg has competed a total of 38 times. Their best result was finishing in 1st place five times – in 1961, 1965, 1972, 1973 and 1983 respectively.

Luxembourg returned to the contest for the first time in 31 years in 2024. Tali, represented Luxembourg in Malmö, with the song “Fighter”. At the close of voting in the first semi-final, it was announced Tali had qualified for the Grand Final. In the Grand Final, “Fighter” received 103 points. 83 points were from the national juries, while 20 points were from the televoters.
