About Rūta Dūduma

Rūta Dūduma is a Latvian singer and voice actress. This year will be her third attempt at representing Latvia; she competed in Dziesma 2013 with the song “Here I Am”, and Supernova 2016 with the song “Being a Friend”, missing out both times on the final round. She has a wide variety of musical experience, including jazz, traditional Latvian, and even some opera! Outside of her solo music career, she performs with the a cappella group FRAMEST and music group Vintāža, and provided the Latvian voices for Liesma (Ember) in Elemental and Pepa in Encanto. She released her first album Pajums in 2024.

Latvia’s Eurovision journey

Latvia made their Eurovision debut in 2000, finishing 3rd with “My Star” by Brainstorm. They have performed at every contest since and quickly won in 2002. Marie N sang “I Wanna,” scoring 176 points and bringing Eurovision to Riga. Since then, Latvia has finished in the top 10 two more times, in 2005 and 2015.

Latvia’s most recent entry on the Eurovision stage was Dons, who performed “Hollow”. The song qualified from the semi-final, bringing Latvia to the grand final for the first time since 2016. In the Grand Final Dons finished in 16th with 64 points, 26 from the public vote and 38 from the national juries.

Supernova‘s tenth edition will start with a semifinal on 1 February and conclude on 8 February; 20 songs will fight for the opportunity to represent Latvia at Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.
