The “Asteromáta” music video features an array of traditional imagery, including traditional dancers. The video also sees Klavdia singing the song at iconic Greek landmarks. These include the Acropolis and iconic cliff faces in the Aegean Sea. In terms of the song, there has been no revamp, meaning the song has stayed the same since she won Ethnikos Telikós in January.
It comes as Greek broadcaster ERT revealed the creative team behind her Eurovision performance. Fokas Evangelios will become the creative director for “Asteromáta” in May. He already has a host of Eurovision experience, including two Eurovision victories – including Helena Paparizou’s “My Number One”. Further details on the performance will be revealed in due course.
Greece’s Eurovision journey
In 1974, Greece made its debut to the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then they have participated on 44 occasions (41 of which made the Grand Final), and have won once, in 2005.
Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Marina Satti with the song “Zari”. Following her performance, Greece qualified for the Grand Final, finishing in 11th place in the Grand Final in Malmö. She earned a total of 126 points, of which 41 were from the national juries and 85 were from the televoters.
