The 2025 entries

The artists competing this May have been busy. Very busy. So busy in fact that I am giving them their own dedicated page, so that the rest of the Extended Eurovision Universe can also have their time to shine.

Abor & Tynna – “Baller (Acoustic Hungarian Version)”

Now I have a special section for remixes and acoustic versions below but Abor & Tynna did more than grab a piano and some strings for this version. As the title says, it is in Hungarian (except for the few English phrases of course). Between it being acoustic and the linguistic change there is a massive shift in how this song sounds and what it makes me feel. Gorgeous and surprising.

Demy X Theo Evan – “Diafanis”

On rare occasions the Eurovision A Little Bit More projects get a full streaming release and this is one example of that. This song, which was written just for this duet, is a fairly by-the-numbers piece but both singers, especially Demy, sound excellent on it.

NØTE – “Drive By (feat. EMMY)”

This is an EDM cover of Train’s “Drive By”. Do with this information what you wish, but don’t blame me for what you hear when you click play. Just like the original though, it is surprisingly catchy if you manage to turn your brain off and not listen to whatever the lyrics are.

Timmy Trumpet, Gabry Ponte, Darren Styles – “It Must Have Been Love (feat. Charla K)”, Gabry Ponte, Village People – Frequency (Go West) (Official Visualizer)

Gabry’s take on “It Must Have Been Love” is a worse version of a song I already didn’t like in its original, Roxette form, and I am not even touching the Village People thing after the current line-up of the group performed at the Trump inauguration.

MassiveMusic – “SEE YOU RADIATE (Eurovision 2025 Theme Song)”

While technically not a 2025 artist it would feel wrong to put this in the EMU. The Eurovision 2025 theme song “SEE YOU RADIATE” by MassiveMusic is available for streaming everywhere and honestly? It kinda slaps. Very mid-to-late 10s video game menu music. I’m thinking DiRT Rally, Forza Horizon 4, that kind of thing.

And here are the Eurovision songs that saw a remix or acoustic version released this month:

Louane – “maman (acoustique)”

Erika Vikman – “ICH KOMME – ROOS+BERG REMIX”

Erika, I am asking for a version of “Ich Komme” that is fully in German except for the titular part, which you sing in Finnish. Have an accordion on it and make it acoustic for extra funny points.

Emmy – “Laika Party (DJ ASTRONAUT Remix)”

Miriana Conte – “Serving Kant”

This is just the original “Kant” lyrics over the slightly changed production of the Eurovision-friendly “Serving” version.
