Portugal’s Eurovision 2025 entry, “Deslocado” by the band NAPA, has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify, making it the third Eurovision 2025 song to do so, following Bara Bada Bastu and Espresso Macchiato.
Deslocado’s viral success
Right from its release as a Festival da Canção, NAPA’s Deslocado found a home on TikTok, initially being popular with the band’s fellow Madeirans who had moved to the mainland, who used the song to share photos of their home island, as well expatriates from Portugal to other countries around the world. This trend would soon spread around the world following the song’s participation in Eurovision.
Deslocado also made its mark on the Portuguese streaming charts, becoming the first Portuguese Eurovision entry since Salvador Sobral’s Amar Pelos Dois to top the Associação Fonográfica Portuguesa’s charts. The song has also been ceritified 4 times platinum domestically.
NAPA’s Eurovision Journey
Madeiran band NAPA were invited to by RTP to compose a song for Festival Da Canção 2025 – entering with the song “Deslocado” they won the competition with 17 points, and would go on to represent Portugal at Eurovision 2025.
They managed to qualify for the Grand Final from the first sem-final and once there, they finished in 21st place. They received a total of 50 points, of which 37 points came from the jury and 13 points came the televote.
