🇮🇹 Silvia

Staff Writer

Silvia is an 18-year-old Italian from Rome, currently living in Tenerife. She grew up watching Sanremo and Eurovision, but became a full-on eurofan in 2015. She loves music, communication, languages, presenting, and sports. Occasionally, she shows up at tennis tournaments as a journalist. You’ll probably find her trying to learn a new language or complaining about sports and national final results on Instagram stories.

🇫🇷 Loïc

Staff Writer

Loïc, a proud French Eurovision devotee since 2010, is not your average viewer — he’s a spreadsheet-wielding superfan. Each national final season, he and his equally obsessed friends prepare Google Docs with more categories than the actual contest to comment, debate, and rank each song like it’s a matter of international diplomacy. He’s such a hardcore member of the “Eurovision lobby” that he’s infiltrated the education system: as a teacher, he’s found a way to turn the contest into an actual class project. The wild part ? His students like it. Brainwashing ? Maybe. Effective ? Absolutely. Whether it’s brainwashing or genius pedagogy, the result is clear : Loïc is out here converting Gen Z into Eurovision stans, one lesson plan at a time.

Samantha first learnt about Eurovision in 2014 and has been a Eurofan ever since. If she’s not forcing her love her for the contest upon her family and friends, she’s either somewhere in the countryside with her pets, constantly listening to music or reading a stupid amount of books.

🇬🇧 Michelle (Kittens)

Video Editor

Michelle, better known as Kittens, is from the UK. She’s very pro spreadsheets and pro bangers. She can probably be found overexerting herself to the higher BPM Eurovision songs in a gym or on a dancefloor somewhere. Michelle has been watching Eurovision since she was young, but has fond memories of Eric Saade in 2011, who rekindled her love of the contest.

🇫🇮 Aleksi

Video Editor

Eurovision has been a part of Aleksi’s life for as long as he can remember. He recalls watching it with his family even in the ’90s, when Finland didn’t participate most years. He’s been a big fan since the late 2000s, and one of his fondest memories is the two weeks in 2007 when Eurovision took over Helsinki. Outside of Eurovision, he enjoys supporting his Helsinki football and ice hockey teams or binge-watching TV shows.

🇬🇧 Oliver

Video Editor

Oliver’s the kind of fan who’s grown up with the contest – and has been hooked ever since. His first memory was the contest in Azerbaijan – Baku – but it wasn’t until the competition in 2014 which really got him excited. The staging, the music, the fun, the anticipation… all of these elements brought together so joyously why the ESC means so much to him. And it’s the interconnectedness of the whole of Europe which continues to make him smile. Outside of the contest, you’ll probably find him at a music event or interviewing someone for his work as a journalist!

🇬🇧 Lewis

Contributor for “That Eurovision Podcast” and Podcast Editor

Lewis knew he was a fan of Eurovision from the moment Lordi held up that trophy but never knew what good company he was in until recently. He sings, dances, and hosts a mean Eurovision party, and he’s currently taking his first steps into full-fledged Eurofandom.
