Since their 4th-place finish at Eurovision 2025, KAJ’s entry for Sweden; “Bara Bada Bastu”has surpassed 100 million streams on streaming platforms, making it the first entry from this year’s competition to achieve this feat.
The 100 Million Streams Club
“Bara Bada Bastu” joins the ranks of other entries such as Eurovision 2024 winner Nemo with their song “The Code”, as well as ABBA’s “Waterloo”.
After the contest, the song became one of three to hit the Top 50 on Spotify’s Global Chart, and along with that, it broke a record for the most-streamed Swedish-language song in a single day. Even after the contest, it has made an impact not just within the Eurovision bubble but also globally.
Within Sweden, the song spent 13 weeks at number 1. On YouTube, the song had a combined 60 million plays on official videos uploaded by the Eurovision Song Contest, Swedish broadcaster SVT and the trio themselves. Anderz Wrethov and Kristofer Strandberg had produced the song, with KAJ being pat of the songwriting process.
Sweden’s Eurovision Journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2025, Sweden were represented by Finnish group KAJ, singing “Bara bada bastu”. At the close of voting in the grand final, they had received 321 points, finishing in 4th place. 126 points were received by the juries, while the trio received 195 points by televoters.
