Eurovision has officially kicked off in Greece, as the acts competing in Ethnikós Telikós 2026 will be revealed on January 4th.
Ethnikós Telikós 2026 to be laid out
In a post on Instagram, Greek broadcaster ERT confirmed that January 4th will be the date when more information will be given surrounding Ethnikós Telikós 2026.
In total, 28 songs will compete in the national selection, and will be held over several nights. Two semi-finals will be held, with 14 songs each, with several qualifying for the final night. No specific date has been given for Ethnikós Telikós 2026, but last year the show was held in late January.
Greece’s Eurovision journey
In 1974, Greece made its debut to the Eurovision Song Contest with “Krasi, thalassa ke t’agori mou” which placed 11th. Since then they have participated on 44 occasions (41 of which made the Grand Final), and have won once, in 2005.
Greece’s most recent Eurovision participation saw them being represented by Klavdia with the song “Asteromáta”. Following her performance, Greece qualified for the Grand Final, finishing in 6th place. She earned a total of 231 points, of which 105 were from the national juries and 126 were from the televoters.
