🇲🇪 Tamara reveals staging plans for “Nova Zora” ahead of Eurovision 2026

Tamara Živković shares new details about her Eurovision performance, focusing on emotion, authenticity, and connection with the audience.

A staging inspired by Montesong

Speaking about her preparations, Tamara confirmed that the staging concept will be largely inspired by her winning performance at Montesong. She will be joined on stage by dancers, aiming to create a dynamic and emotionally charged atmosphere that enhances the message of the song.

The artistic direction and costume have already been finalised, with rehearsals now focusing on choreography and synchronisation. The goal is to deliver a performance that blends emotion, energy, and visual impact.

Staying true to the song’s identity

Tamara emphasised that the strength of “Nova Zora” lies in its emotional authenticity. For this reason, she has chosen to keep the song largely in Montenegrin, with only minimal English phrases.

She noted that audiences at pre-parties in cities such as Stockholm and Oslo have already responded enthusiastically, even երգ singing along despite the language barrier — something she sees as proof that the song’s energy can transcend borders.

“I remain calm” ahead of Eurovision

Despite the pressure of the competition, Tamara says she is staying focused and grounded:

“I think the most important thing is to stay calm and enjoy the whole process, because in the end it’s about music and art. That approach helps me stay calm in the face of the responsibilities that lie ahead”

These, she believes, will be the key elements that could make Montenegro stand out in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2026 on May 12.

Montenegro’s Eurovision Journey

Before Montenegro announced its return to the Eurovision Song Contest for 2025, they had a scattered appearance at the competition. There has been a Montenegrin presence at the Eurovision Song Contest as far back as 1983, when the nation was a part of Yugoslavia. Montenegrin entries went on to represent Yugoslavia in 1983 and 1984, placing 4th and 18th respectively. Similarly, the nation also sent an entry as part of Serbia and Montenegro in 2005, placing 7th with No Name’s “Zauvijek moja”.

Montenegro returned to the Contest in 2025 with Nina Žižić returning to the competition after 12 years. Singing “Dobrodošli”, Montenegro competed in the second semi-final. However, their return did not see a return to the final, with Montenegro finishing last in the semi-final with just 12 points.
