With less than a month to go until Eurovision 2026, preparations in Vienna are ramping up, as ORF has unveiled the main fan event locations across the city while stage construction inside the Wiener Stadthalle continues to gather pace ahead of the Contest.
Eurovision Village, EuroClub and Eurofan House confirmed
As shared by ORF on social media, three key locations will shape the fan experience in Vienna during Eurovision week.
The Eurovision Village will take over Rathausplatz from 10 to 17 May, offering live concerts, DJ sets and interactive activities, alongside food stands and fan experiences such as karaoke and quizzes.
Meanwhile, the Eurofan House will be located at the Wien Museum between 11 and 16 May. The venue will host panels, talks and exclusive interviews, as well as activities organised by OGAE Austria and international fan media.
In addition, the official EuroClub will be held at the Prater DOME from 11 to 16 May. Across six nights, the venue will host after-parties, live screenings of the semi-finals and Grand Final, and themed events throughout the week.
Vienna’s coffee houses: a new part of Eurovision
Eurovision 2026 will also extend beyond official venues and into one of Vienna’s most iconic traditions: its coffee houses.
Through the ‘Eurofan Café’ initiative, around 20 cafés across the city will become meeting points for fans and delegations from 3 to 17 May. Each café will host one or more participating countries.
The idea goes further than just themed spaces, with plans including national dishes, live music and possible artist appearances.
Stage construction begins inside the Wiener Stadthalle
Alongside the announcement of fan locations, work is continuing inside the Wiener Stadthalle, where the Eurovision stage is now taking shape.
ORF officially took over the venue at the end of March, since then, crews have been working on transforming the arena into the Contest stage.
The construction phase will continue throughout the coming weeks, as the venue moves closer to being show-ready for May.
All About Eurovision 2026
The journey to the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest kicked off immediately following JJ’s win in Basel, when Austria’s ORF accepted the rights to host the 70th edition of the contest. The bidding process started in June, with interested cities having until July 4 to submit their bid book. Innsbruck and Vienna were shortlisted, with the latter winning the right to host next year’s contest. 35 countries will take part in the competition, the lowest number of competing entries since 2004.
As for the organisation of the competition, the ‘core team‘ was revealed in June 2025, with further details about next year’s competition to be revealed in due course. The shows will take place on May 12th, 14th and 16th.
