🇸🇪 noll2 – “Ta din tid”
Young Swedish musical duo noll2 made their debut in Melodifestivalen earlier this year, with their song “Berusade ord”. Latest release from the pair comes in the form of retrospective pop-folk ballad “Ta din tid”. This is a really, really pretty song, showcasing the duo’s vocals on top of a simple ukulele sound before the chorus builds and the song fills out towards the last minute. Simply, beautiful.
🇺🇦 The Elliens – “таблетки”
The Elliens participated in Ukraine’s Vidbir earlier this year with the song “Crawling Whispers”, placing 7th. Lead singer Olena Usenko had represented Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. The band are an alt-rock/ folk-rock outfit that often make big, exciting songs, however this latest single sees a softer side to the musicians. With more of an indie-rock sound, “таблетки” contains a slower chorus and features horns and a more melodic sound to some of their previous records, while still keeping the rock influence.
🇸🇪 Klara Almström – “Notre-Dame”
Melodifestivalen debutant Klara Almström came 5th in the 2nd heat of Mello this year with her song “Där hela världen väntar”. The Swedish pop singer has this week released new single “Notre-Dame” and it is every bit as etherial and vocally beautiful as her Mello entry. It’s a calm, yet wonderful country-pop song. The track is released algosnide recent singles “Brogatan” and “Bli som min mamma”. The young singer is sure to be someone to keep an eye on in upcoming years!

🇫🇮 Nelli Matula – “Hoidan sut” (Vain elämää kausi 17)
Nelli Matula appeared in Finland’s UMK national final back in 2025, with her big electro-pop track “Hitaammin hautaan”. The musician has gone on to have a hugely successful career in Finland, with millions of streams across many of her recent releases. This week, Nelli appeared on the 17th season of the popular Finnish show Vain elämää, reimagining Benjamin’s UMK 2023 entry “Hoida Mut” in the form of a gender flipped, female empowerment pop record “Hoidan sut”.
Vain elämää (meaning “It’s only life” in Finnish) is a popular Finnish reality music television series, where a group of well-known Finnish musicians live and record music together. Each show features the music of a specific member of the group, with the original artist listening and reacting to the new interpretations of their song. The final episode usually features duets or group performances. The show is an adaptation of the Dutch format De beste zangers van Nederland. The title of the show comes from the classic 1973 song “Vain elämää” by legendary Finnish singer Irwin Goodman. The show premiered in 2012, and has become one of Finland’s most successful and long-running reality television programs, spanning numerous seasons and featuring dozens of Finland’s top recording artists. This week, the musical theme came from the hits of UMK 2023 icon Benjamin.
🇷🇸 Filarri – “Decko Je Slobodan (Muželožnik)”
Serbian musician Filarri has made several attempts to represent his country in Eurovision, most recently appearing in the 2025 edition of Serbia’s PZE national selection with the track “Meet and Greet”. This latest single, “Decko Je Slobodan (Muželožnik)”, is an exciting tech-dance track, with recognisable Balkan influences and a loud and in-your-face hook. The track changes and blends genres and vibes throughout the 3 minute run time, and keeps you guessing what could possibly come next. This is exciting from Filarri and Anastasija Spasevska!
🇪🇪 Felin – “Running Red Lights”
Okay, so full honesty, Felin’s 2025 Eesti Laul entry “Solo Anthem” is one of my all time most played national final songs. The track is the ultimate teen angst guilty pleasure to me, and Elin Blom absolutely sold the live performance for me in the 2025 national final. Felin performed in the 16-song final of Eesti Laul in 2025, finishing in sixth place with the international jury, earning 34 points, but did not advance to the superfinal round. The selection was ultimately won by Tommy Cash and “Espresso Macchiato” which gave Estonia one of their best results in recent Eurovision memory, but a part of me still prefers “Solo Anthem”. And for that reason, I have to say “Running Red Lights” is an absolute pop-rock bop. This scratches the same teen angst itch for me that “Solo Anthem” did. Emo kids turned Eurofans make some noise for this one please.
🇩🇰 Adel the Second – “tell me less touch me more”
Adel the Second placed third in the superfinal round of 2025’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix with his song “The Unluckiest Boy Alive”. The latest release from the Danish musician is a fun, dancey indie-electronica track “tell me less touch me more”. It has elements of disco, electronic pop music, dance and indie in this, and the fusion of all those genres, with Adel’s instantly recognisable vocal is really exciting.
