About “Poppelvej”

Eurovision 2026 performer for Denmark, Søren Torpegaard Lund, is back with new music. The “Før Vi GÃ¥r Hjem” singer and ESC Grand Finalist has this week released the “Poppelvej” EP. The EP features title track “Poppelvej”, as well as new song “Det Vi Virkelig Mener”. The new tracks are joined by Søren’s Eurovision entry, and recent single “Festen stopper aldrig”.

The new tracks on the EP build on Søren’s success with “Før Vi GÃ¥r Hjem”, blending personal and emotional lyrics with a dramatic, theatrical musical performance. Søren says the new four-track EP “encapsulates all the feelings and experiences this crazy year has been for” him.

The newly released songs “Poppelvej” and “Det Vi Virkelig Mener” were written and produced by Søren himself, alongside Søren Christensen, Ben Rose, Clara Sofie, Thomas Meilstrup and Rasmus Olsen. Alongside new music, Søren will be taking the stage in his “dream role” of Orpheus in Hadestown in 2027. For more information, check his social media or the Hadestown website.

Søren’s Eurovision journey

Søren made his Dansk Melodi Grand Prix debut in 2023 with the song “Lige her”, but failed to make the top three of that year’s Danish selection for Eurovision.

The singer returned to the Danish national selection in 2026 with the song “Før Vi GÃ¥r Hjem”. He would eventually win Dansk Melodi Grand Prix on his second attempt, placing first in both the public and jury votes in the show. “Før Vi GÃ¥r Hjem” was written by Søren himself, as well as Clara Sofie Fabricius, Thomas Meilstrup and Valdemar Littauer Bendixen.

At the 2026 Contest in Austria, Søren performed in the second of the Semi-Finals. He qualified for the Grand Final in Vienna, and was drawn in the opening slot in the running order of the Saturday live show. At the close of voting, “Før Vi GÃ¥r Hjem” would finish in 7th place. Denmark were awarded a total of 243 points. Of these, 165 came from juries, while 78 came from the televote.
