2026 national final artists
🇸🇪 Smash Into Pieces – “The Best”
🇦🇱 Lorenc Hasrama – “Mi Amor”
Lorenc Hasrama has appeared in the last 2 editions of Albania’s Festivali i Këngës, in December 2024 with the big hit “Frymë”, and in December 2025 with the song “Lamtumirë”. The FiK 65 participation list was revealed this week, and unfortunately for fans of Lorenc, his name does not appear on it, but he is back with new music. The new single, “Mi Amor”, is a big Balkan ballad, love-song, and Latin infused track, all blended into one. This is great. Lorenc, please come back to FiK for the FiK66 show.
🇦🇹 Anna-Sophie – “HOME”
Austrian pop singer Anna-Sophie took part in the national selection Vienna Calling, to find Austria’s host entry for the 2026 Contest. She took part in the national final with the uptempo pop-dance song “Superhuman”. She missed out on the ticket to represent her country on home soil, placing 6th in the selection. Her latest single, “HOME”, is a beautiful, emotional indie pop track, with inspiring lyrics and a great chorus. This walks the line of indie singer-songwriter track, and mainstream pop perfectly.
🇳🇴 Silke – “A World Away”
Norwegian pop singer Silke has twice entered the MGP national final, most recently competing this year with the song “Forevermore”. Ahead of her album “Welcome To Silketopia : The Arising” due in a fortnight’s time, this week she has released the single “A World Away” from the record. The singles that have come from the album so far have all been exciting, etherial, dance-pop tracks, and latest single “A World Away” is no different. Silke sounds incredible on this track, and the big electro-dance breakdown midway through is exactly what I need.
🇵🇱 Anastazja – “Druga Połowa”
2026 Finał Krajowych Kwalifikacji contestant Anastazja has this week teeamed up with former Polish footballer Grzegorz Krychowiak and rapper Favst on an interesting new single. The “Wild Child” singer joins the two men for the song “Druga Połowa”. On paper, this should not work. A former professional footballer, a rapper and a Polish national finalist walk into a studio. And this comes of it. But… I love it. It’s contemporary rap with great pop vocals from Anastazja. Rumours are brewing that Grzegorz Krychowiak could be a potential national final entry next year, after his pivot from football to rap, and I for one hope that it is a duet between him and Anastasja.
🇲🇹 Chess Galea – “Butterflies”
Chess Galea took part in Malta’s MESC national final earlier this year with her uptempo pop-dance ballad “Shout it out”. The latest single to come from Chess comes in the form of soulful, pop ballad “Butterflies”. The chorus is danceable, enjoyable and catchy. The verses are emotionally charged, incredibly well sung, and give a fresher take to the track. This is wonderful.
🇮🇹 Samurai Jay – “AMATORE”
Samurai Jay took part in this year’s edition of the music festival with the song “Ossessione”. Whilst unable to make it to the top of the Sanremo 2026 contestants after votes were counted, “Ossessione” became a smash hit in Italy, being awarded a 2x platinum status. This week, his latest album drops, and features a plethora of famous Italian names. As a whole, the album is exciting, modern, and incredibly Italian. Samurai Jay is great.
🇮🇹 Samurai Jay & Jovanotti – “Le foglie di te”
Italian music icon Jovanotti has teamed up with Sanremo 2026 alumni Samurai Jay this week on new track “Le foglie di te”. Jovanotti himself has entered the Festival di Sanremo back in 1989 as a contestant, but has made regular appearances in the Italian festival since then as a songwriter, guest performer and as a guest on the famous ‘Covers Night’. The legend of Sanremo joins Samurai Jay for the opening track of his latest album, and what an opener it is. Both artists bring a sense of class to a rap-pop track in the form of “Le foglie di te”.
🇮🇹 Samurai Jay & Sayf – “MALATÌ”
Also featuring on a song on the new Samurai Jay album is Italian rapper Sayf, who also took part in the Festival di Sanremo for the 2026 edition. Sayf performed his huge fan-favourite track “Tu mi piaci tanto”, placing second and narrowly missing out on the Eurovision ticket to Sal Da Vinci, in one of the closest results in Sanremo history. The collaboration between Sayf and Samurai Jay from the recent “AMATORE” album, “MALATÌ”, is a vibe, uptempo RnB / rap track. This is a fun song!
🇮🇹 Samurai Jay & Serena Brancale – “DISGRAZIATA”
Another Sanremo 2026 name to feature on the new Samurai Jay album is that of Serena Brancale. Serena competed in both the 2025 and 2026 edition of Italy’s biggest music festival, with the songs “Anema e core” and “Qui con me” respectively. This is probably the most interesting track on the new record, with an indie-guitar duet between the two artists. This feels different to the rest of the record, in a really fun and pleasant way.
🇮🇹 Samurai Jay & Federica Abbate – “PRIGIONE”
Also featured on the new album is Federica Abbate, who co-wrote Italy’s 2016 ESC entry “No Degree of Separation”, as well as the country’s 2026 entry “Per Sempre Si”. The track she joins Samurai Jay for, “PRIGIONE”, is perhaps the most radio-friendly, chart-ready sound on the album, with a melodic chorus and catchy, toe-tapper of a beat. Overall, the entire album is a great piece of work from Jay.
🇷🇴🇸🇲 Edward Maya – “De Parche” & “Hearts”
I don’t think it counts as a ThatEurovisionSite New Music Round-up article without a feature from Edward Maya. I think this man has appeared on almost every single round-up so far this year. And that’s purely because of the amount of music this DJ creates. Edward Maya will most likely be known as the DJ and producer of huge eurodance anthem “Stereo Love”, back in the early 2010s. But this year, the musician entered both Selcția Naționalǎ in Romania with the song “Everybody Needs Somebody”, and San Marino Song Contest with the song “Balla”. The artists may also be known to fans as one of the creators of Romania’s 2006 Eurovision entry “Tornerò”, performed by Mihai Trăistariu. In a testament to how many singles Edward releases on a regular basis, this week, he features on this list twice. Firstly, with latin-pop, reggaeton / dance track “De Parche”, featuring Ricky C and DJ Kaos. The second track, “Hearts”, features T3rminal and Afro EthnicBabe, on an afrodance beat. Edward Maya is nothing if not productive!
🇸🇪 Emilia Pantic – “Sand”
Emilia Pantić made an appearance in Sweden’s Melfest earlier this year, competing in heat three of the show with the song “Ingenting”. Latest single “Sand” is a dramatic, indie-pop record, perfect for a movie or tv soundtrack, with a huge chorus and vocal flourishes throughout. This is fresh, piercing, and dramatic.
🇱🇹 Ledi Ais – “Per mane”
Ledi Ais competed in this year’s edition of Eurovizja.LT with the song “Mes sizekiam žvaigždžių”. Latest single, “Per mane”, is a great indie-electo-pop track. The backing instrumental during the chorus is incredibly infectious, and Ledi’s vocal shines throughout. This is wonderful.
🇮🇹 Levante – “DELL’AMORE IL FALLIMENTO E ALTRI PASSI DI DANZA”
Levante has featured in Italy’s Festival di Sanremo on a number of occasions, most recently in 2026 with the song “Sei tu”. Levante made headlines across Italy, and more widely in Europe, after announced before Sanremo began that she would boycott the Eurovision ticket if she were to win, on ethical grounds, due to the continued participation of Israel in the Song Contest. This week, Levante releases the new album “DELL’AMORE IL FALLIMENTO E ALTRI PASSI DI DANZA”, which among other tracks, features the soundtrack of the new film ‘FolleMente’. As a finished album, this is exciting and contemporary, while having a class and finish to it that only someone with Levante’s expertise could perfect.
2025 national final artists
🇪🇸 J Kbello – “ENTRE RISAS Y CARICIAS”
Spanish RnB / dance singer J Kbello took part in the 2025 edition of Spain’s Benidorm Fest with the energetic and sexually charged pop-dance track “V.I.P”. Although he didn’t take the win in 2025, he became a fan favourite of the Spanish national final, and has made appearances in serval pre-parties and Eurovision events in recent years. Latest single “ENTRE RISAS Y CARICIAS” sees J Kbello take on a more soulful, sultry sound, with a slower tempo than some of his previous releases, while still featuring a modern rap edge to it. The track is delicious.
🇩🇪 Feuerschwanz – “Sternhagelvoller”
German folk-metal band Feuerschwanz took part in the 2025 Chefsache ESC German national final for Eurovision, with their uptempo metal track “Knightclub”. Latest single “Sternhagelvoller” is the perfect folk-indie song to welcome in the autumn and halloween season. This is raspy, old school folk with a great instrumental, and exciting storytelling.
🇵🇹 Fernando Daniel – “Entre 4 Paredes”
As well as his role coaching Voice Kids winner and Portugeses JESC entrant Simão Oliveira, in 2021, Fernando Daniel has his own connection to the Eurovision Song Contest. The Portugese singer-songwriter has twice entered the country’s Festival da Canção, in 2017 with the song “Poema a Dois”, and again in 2025 with “Medo”. New single “Entre 4 Paredes” is a beautiful piano ballad from the experienced performer. This is really quite emotional, and shows Fernando in a really sensitive light.
🇫🇮 Nelli Matula – “Anna mulle (Vain elämää)
Nelli Matula appeared in Finland’s UMK national final back in 2025, with her big electro-pop track “Hitaammin hautaan”. The musician has gone on to have a hugely successful career in Finland, with millions of streams across many of her recent releases. Nelli is currently taking part in Finland’s Vain elämää TV show, and this week takes on the music of Nylon Beat in the form of “Anna mulle”. This is girl-boss pop.
Vain elämää (meaning “It’s only life” in Finnish) is a popular Finnish reality music television series, where a group of well-known Finnish musicians live and record music together. Each show features the music of a specific member of the group, with the original artist listening and reacting to the new interpretations of their song. The final episode usually features duets or group performances. The show is an adaptation of the Dutch format De beste zangers van Nederland. The title of the show comes from the classic 1973 song “Vain elämää” by legendary Finnish singer Irwin Goodman. The show premiered in 2012, and has become one of Finland’s most successful and longest-running reality television programs, spanning numerous seasons and featuring dozens of Finland’s top recording artists. This week, the musical theme came from the hits of special guests, Finnish pop duo Nylon Beat.
🇱🇹 Sophie Ali – “There’s More”
Sophie Ali took part in the 2025 edition of Lithuania’s national final Eurovizja.LT with the song “The Bluest Bell”, reaching the grand final of the selection. Newest single “There’s More” blends country, indie pop and synth-pop for a beautiful, contemporary pop track.
🇮🇹 Rkomi – “MILANO”
Italian singer, songwriter and rapper Rkomi has twice appeared in the country’s Festival di Sanremo, most recently in 2025 with the track “Il ritmo delle cose”. He has also collaborated with many famous Sanremo names in recent years, including projects with Elodie, Sayf, Irama, Elisa and Marco Mengoni. This week, he releases the “A MILANO” EP. Each song is a great example of modern Italian rap, with spirit and passion and showcasing Rkomi’s incredible talent for storytelling through music.
🇪🇪 An-Marlen (& Heleza) – “ta on minu”
Another album on this week’s round-up list featuring a whole host of collaborations with a national final link, this time from Estonia. This week, Heleza, who participated in Estonia’s national final for Eurovision back in 2021, has released her debut album “mis oleks võinud olla?”. The most recent of the Eesti Laul alumni to feature on the record is An-Marlen, who competed in the selection in 2025 with the song “Külm”. An-Marlen features on the electro-pop track “ta on minu”, and the duet of these two Eesti Laul artists is great. The synth sound throughout is exciting, with fast-paced beats and a heavy background bass sound. This is fresh and enjoyable!
