What’s changed in Rehearsal Two?
Rehearsing right now inside the Ahoy Arena is Hooverphonic, performing “The Wrong Place” for Belgium. Here is what has changed since the first rehearsal, and what the team thinks of the changes.
As you might expect from Hooverphonic, they’ve stayed very true to their initial staging concept and vision! It remains dark, moody, haunting, and entirely focused on portraying the group as a band. During the second verse, hands appear behind the band on the LED screen, replicating Geike’s movements from the music video. The camera movements are slow, with minimal cuts, and lots of rotating around the group (possibly more than the first time around), which is almost trapping Geike in the centre. There’s some more focus on other members of the band as well during the “you’re in the wrong place” parts of the song. Towards the end of the song, we get a wide shot of the whole band, before a zoom into Geike on the final line. They sound just as good as they did in the first rehearsal.
In case you missed it…
