The opportunities continue on for the UK’s SPACE MAN, as the BBC has announced that its Eurovision 2022 representative Sam Ryder will be rounding off his year by having his own special on New Years Eve, the “Sam Ryder’s All Star New Year’s Eve” which will air on BBC One on New Year’s Eve.
Rounding off an already successful year
The news about his NYE special was revealed by Sam during his visit to Zoe Ball on Radio 2. Upon the reveal of the news, Sam had the following to say:
I can’t think of a better way to round off 2022 than singing some of my favourite songs with some very special guests. It’s been such an incredible 12 months full of fabulous blessings thanks to fabulous people, and I’m so excited to bring in 2023 with you! As always, thank you for the opportunity!

Sam and his all-star friends performing a party playlist of big songs will be the perfect way to bring in the new year on BBC One
Mel Balac, the Creative Director, BBC Studios Entertainment had the following to say:
Sam will be performing an exclusive set of NYE bangers with some unexpected musical surprises and unique twists along the way. Sam’s energy and charisma is off the scale as a performer and it promises to be one heck of a party for BBC One viewers.
The show will be produced by BBC Entertainment, where we will see Sam joined by other music stars, as the show counts down to midnight, performing hits which span the decades. Then after the fireworks display, the celebration will then continue with Sam performing classic hits and duets with other artists.

Sam Ryder’s Eurovision journey
In 2022, the UK was represented by Sam Ryder with his song “SPACE MAN”. The performance managed to impress juries and televoters, and the UK finished in second place with 466 points, their best placing since 1998.
