🏆Eurovision artists celebrated at 2022 MTV EMAs

As preparations for the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest continue, acts who have taken the stage are still in the spotlight. Eurovision artists have been celebrated at the MTV EMAs in Düsseldorf on Sunday (November 13th).

Appearances and performances at the EMAs

Prior to the live event, it was announced that Eurovision 2022 winners Kalush Orchestra would perform. At the show, the group performed a mix of their winning track, “Stefania”. The performance included traditional Ukrainian horns, as well as Ukrainian patterns in the background. Tens of dancers also surrounded the band dressed as lead singer Oleh Psiuk.

In addition to Kalush Orchestra, second-placed Sam Ryder also appeared in the show. Ryder was joined alongside Canadian-American singer Lauren Spencer-Smith to present the award for Best Collaboration.

Nominations and wins from other Eurovision artists

As well as traditional appearances, artists of Eurovisions past and present were nominated for awards. Eurovision 2021 winners Måneskin received a nomination for Best Rock Act, but lost out to British band Muse.

Additionally, Noa Kirel and Amir won the regional awards for Best Israeli Act and Best French Act respectively. Marius Bear, who represented Switzerland at Eurovision 2022, was nominated for Best Swiss Act, but did not win the title. Similarly, Syro – who participated in Festival da Canção 2022 – was nominated for Best Portuguese Act, but lost out to Bárbara Bandeira.
