Today rehearsals for the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest kicked off. Countries rehearsing on Day 1 include Albania, Ukraine, Malta, Serbia, Poland, North Macedonia, and Portugal. Fourth to rehearse today was Serbia’s Katarina Savić.
What did we learn about Katarina’ staging?

From what we have seen from the rehearsal pictures, Katarina will be wearing a headset microphone throughout her performance. She will be joined by a backing dancer, who was also featured in the music video of “Svet Bez Granica”. The pictures also reveals that there will be costume change within the performance, where see Katarina’s outfit changing from White to Red, as well as the use of the trombone, just like in the music video. The performance will also see the use of the LED screens in the background, where Red and Blue where shown on screen.

About Katarina Savić
Katarina Savić’s favorite musicians are Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and BTS. The thirteen-year-old hails from Belgrade, where she was discovered after RTS’ open call for Junior Eurovision submissions. And she doesn’t only sing; Katerina also enjoys ballet dancing and playing her trombone.
Serbia’s Junior Eurovision Journey
In 2006, Serbia debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Neustrašivi učitelji stranih jezika and the song “Učimo strane jezike” (Учимо стране језике), which placed 5th. The Balkan nation competed until 2010, where it took a three-year break between 2011 and 2013. Since 2014, Serbia has continuously participated in the competition.
Serbia’s most recent participation in the competition in 2021, saw them being represented by Jovana and Dunja with the song “Oči Deteta (Children’s Eyes)” which placed 13th overall in the competition, where Serbia received 86 points from the jury and online voting.
