As the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 edges closer, Tim had a chance to speak to Sophie Lennon from Ireland on his journey to the Contest. Together, they talk about hobbies outside of singing as well as Sophie’s wish to see Irish back in the adult contest, They also talk about how her rehearsal went and what to look out for when she takes to the stage on Sunday.

Lennon will perform her song ‘Solas’ at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia. Following the opening ceremony, Ireland will perform in position #9. He will follow the performance from Mariam Bigvava from Georgia and before Lara, Irina and Jovan from North Macedonia.

Sophie’ Junior Eurovision journey

13-year-old Sophie is from a small village called Mayobridge which is in County Down. Sophie is no stranger to competition having previously taken part in BBC: School Soloist of the Year and Britain’s Got Talent. Sophie also has experience in front of big audiences having been part of the Shrek: The Musical cast. In her spare time, Sophie likes the make TikToks, some of which include her family.
