🇦🇹 Teya and Salena releases Austria’s Eurovision 2023 entry, ‘Who The Hell Is Edgar?’

After much anticipation ‘Who The Hell Is Edgar?’ has been released as Austria’s 2023 Eurovision entry and will be performed by Teya and Salena in Liverpool this coming May.

Who are Teya and Salena

Teya has previous history in Eurovision having previously tried to represent her ancestral home of Serbia in the 2020 contest. Performing under the name Thea Devy, her song ‘Sudnji Dan’ managed to make the final of Beovizija 2020, and ultimately finished 10th overall. Sahlena is also no newcomer to musical competitions having previously been a contestant on the 2017 edition of The Voice of Germany.

The pair were revealed as Austria’s participants back in January, after being one of a number of of acts that had been invited to audition for the chance to represent Austria at Eurovision this year. The song premiered on Austria’s national broadcaster ÖRF’s radio station Ö3 during the show ‘Ö3 Wecker’.

Austria’s Eurovision Journey

In 1957, Austria made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest, where Bob Martin represented the landlocked nation with the song “Wohin, kleines Pony?”. At the close of voting, it manages to place 10th overall. Since their debut, Austria has participated 54 times (being in the final 47 times), and have won the competition on two occasions (1966 and 2014 respectively).

In 2021, Austria was represented by duo LUM!X and Pia Maria with the song “Halo”, where they managed to placed 15th in the semi-final; receiving 42 points from the professional juries and televoters.
