As time progresses, more and more countries reveal if whether or not they will be participating at Junior Eurovision 2023 in Nice. The next country to reveal their non-participation is Latvia.
No reason given for non-participation
LTV confirmed their non-participation to Eurofestivales. However, they did not explain the reason for their absence this year. Latvia’s non-participation would see them miss out on the competition, for the twelfth time. Latvia has not participated in the competition since 2011, when the competition took place in Yerevan.
Latvia’s Junior Eurovision Journey
Latvia was among the participants at the inaugural edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2003, where Dzintars ΔΔ«Δa represented them with the song “Tu esi vasarΔ”, and placed 9th. They participated until 2005 when they took a four-year break and returned in 2010. The Baltic nation’s last participation was in 2011, with Amanda BaΕ‘makova and the song “Moondog” which placed 13th.
