As time progresses, more and more countries reveal if whether or not they will be participating at Junior Eurovision 2023 in Nice. The next country to reveal their non-participation is San Marino.

No reason given to their non-participation

RTV San Marino confirmed their non-participation to Eurofestivales. No reason was given, as to why San Marino will not be participating in this year’s competition. Their non-participation would see them miss out on the competition, for the eighth year in a row. San Marino has not participated in the competition since 2015 when the competition took place in Sofia.

About Junior Eurovision 2023

Junior Eurovision 2023 landed in ‘Nice’ after France won the competition for a second time in Yerevan, where its 2022 representative Lissandro won the competition with “Oh Maman”. This year’s competition will take place on the 26th of November at 16:00CET in Nice, at the Palais Nikaรฏa in Nice, which can accomodate up to 9,000 spectators.

San Marino’s Junior Eurovision Journey

The micro-nation made its debut to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2013 with Michele Perniola and his entry “O-o-O Sole intorno a me” which placed 10th. San Marino participated two more times, with their recent attempt in 2016 with Kamilla Ismailova and her song “Mirror” which placed 14th and received 36 points overall.
