🇦🇱 Submissions for Festivali i Këngës 62 to close on October 10

After Albania’s national broadcaster RTSH opened the submissions for the 62nd edition of Festivali i Këngës, the broadcaster has now revealed until when they will be accepting submissions.

Submissions open until October 10

RTSH has revealed that submissions will be accepted for Festivali i Këngës 62 until the 10th of October. The submissions period were opned on September 1 via an announcement on social media, with RTSH revealing what interested participants should provide when sending in an application:

  • Full song mastered in MP3 Format (320 kbps).
  • The orchestral with accompanying voices in MP3 Format (320 kbps).
  • Song instrumental in MP3 Format (320 kbps).
  • The lyrics of the entry in written format.
  • The length of the competing song should not exceed 4 Minutes.
  • Exact names of competing song Author, Composers, Lyricists and Orchestra, Producer and the Studio.
  • Photographs of the Artist or the Performing Group.
  • A Brief Biography of the Artist or Performing Group.
  • The performing artist must have reached the age of 16.
  • A contact number and email for communication.

The submissions will be done via e-mail on ‘festivali62@rtsh.al’, with the requirements above attached.

Albania’s Eurovision Journey

In 2004, Albania made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest with Anjeza Shahini with “Image of You”, which placed 7th in the final. Since their debut, Albania has participated 19 times, and made the final 10 times, with their best result in 2012 where Rona Nishliu placed 5th with “Suus”.

In 2023, Albina Kelmendi and her family represented Albania at the Contest in Liverpool with their song “Duje”. Performing in the second semi-final, the six-piece group qualified for the final. At the close of the voting in the final, Albania finished in 22nd place with a total of 76 points. Of these, 16 points came from the juries, whilst 59 came from the televote.
