Eurovision 2022 runner up Sam Ryder has achieved Christmas number 2 position in the UK charts today with his latest single.
Sam’s chase for Christmas number 1
The song “You’re Christmas To Me” has been climbing the charts since its release in November. Created for the film “Your Christmas or Mine 2”, the song reached number 10 on the Official Chart last week. This week, Sam has been busy touring the country performing 26 shows in 6 days to promote the single. The song is his first release as an independent artist after parting ways with Parlophone Records.
The song came in at number 2 in the Christmas chart race, with the number 1 spot going to “Last Christmas” by Wham. Sam is no stranger to coming in second, as his Eurovision 2022 song “Space Man” also reached the number 2 position in the UK charts in May 2022.
His album “There’s nothing but Space, Man” reached number 1 in the album charts last year.
Sam Ryder’s Eurovision journey
In 2022, the UK was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest by Sam Ryder with his song “SPACE MAN”. The performance managed to impress juries and televoters, and the UK finished in second place with 466 points, their best placing since 1998.
