After getting the ticket to Eurovision in 2019, will he be getting the golden ticket in America? As the UK’s Eurovision 2019 representative, Michael Rice reveals he will be competing in the 22nd season of American Idol.
New season to premiere on February
Michael revealed the news of his participation via social media, where he posted a picture of himself standing in front of an American Idol sign, inviting his followers to follow his journey.
Besides taking part in American Idol, and Eurovision: You Decide, Michael Rice is no stranger to competitions, having competed in The X Factor, as well as winning ‘All Together Now’ in 2014.
At the time of writing, it is yet to be revealed when Michael Rice’s audition will air. However, the latest season of American Idol will premiere on the 18th of February and will air on ABC.
Michael Rice’s Eurovision Journey
In 2019, Michael Rice was selected to represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2019, with his entry “Bigger Than Us”which was written by Laurell Barker, Anna-Klara Folin, John Lundvik and Jonas Thander. In Tel Aviv, Michael placed 26th, after receiving 11 points from the juries and televoters.
