Today, the rehearsals for Eurovision 2024 continue in Malmö. The first half of semi-final two had their second rehearsals and the Big Five and Sweden had their first rehearsals. Countries rehearsing for the first time on Day 6 include the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, France, Spain and Italy. The next to rehearse is Spain’s Nebulossa.
Nebulossa’s first rehearsal
The fifth to take the Eurovision 2024 stage at Malmö Arena in Malmö was Spain’s Nebulossa. They will be competing in this year’s competition with his entry “Zorra” after they won the Spanish national final, Benidorm Fest.
Following Spain’s first rehearsal, a clip of what went on was posted on the official TikTok account of the Eurovision Song Contest. The clip showed them before and after they took to the Eurovision stage for the first time, as well as giving us some insight into how well their first rehearsal went.
What did we learn about Nebulossa’s staging?

The Eurovision live-blog on Reddit says a lot of this staging is largely the same as it was in Benidorm Fest. Mery is wearing a lace catsuit, again like we saw in the national final. Mery is joined on stage by two male dancers. A lot of the props used in the national final such as the red sofa have also made it to Malmö. One thing that is different is that the performance intro starts in the cage which is lowered onto the stage. It has also been confirmed by the live-blog that there will be pyro during this performance at Eurovision.
What we thought of Nebulossa’s first rehearsal
After Spain’s first rehearsal, Rory gave his initial thoughts on the snippet that we saw.
Who are Nebulossa?
Nebulossa is a musical duo who are a pair both inside the music industry and outstde, made up of Mery Bas and Mark Dasousa. The pair have been married for 20 years, and have two children.
As a musical project, Nebulossa launched in 2018 and released their first song – “La colmena” – in 2020. In 2023, the duo were joined by Ophelia Alibrando to form a trio to try out for the Sammarinese selection – Una Voce per San Marino. Whilst the group failed to make it to the audition stage in the microstate, this year the pair were selected to compete in Benidorm Fest 2024 with their song “Zorra”. They went on to win the competition, and will perform their self-penned song in Malmö.
The name Nebulossa comes from the word nebulae, (nebulosa in Spanish). It originated on a trip the pair made to the Port Ainé observatory in Catalonia – the second S added as a tribute to the Catalan language, where the double s is common.
Spain’s Eurovision Journey
Spain debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 with Conchita Bautista’s “Estando Contigo”. The country earned its first win in 1968 with Massiel’s “La La La”, and won again in 1969 with Salome’s “Vivo Cantando” in an infamous four-way tie. Although they have yet to win again, Spain earned several 2nd place finishes, most famously with Mocedades’ “Eres tu” in 1973 and Anabel Conde’s “Vuelve conmigo” in 1996.
In 2023, Spain selected Blanca Paloma to carry on the success of Chanel in 2022. As part of the Big 5, Blanca Paloma did not need to qualify to the Grand Final from the semi-finals. At the close of voting, her song “EAEA” finished 17th, with a total of 100 points. Of these, 95 points came from the jury, whilst 5 came from the televote.
