Ukraine has become the latest country to confirm their participation at Eurovision 2025 – with broadcaster Suspilne confirming the nation will be taking part.
Hoping for Ukraine to be represented well
Specific details have yet to be revealed for Ukraine’s national selection for Eurovision 2025. However, in previous years Suspilne has used Vidbir as a selection method. Since its introduction, Ukraine has scored two victories and four top 5 placements.
Speaking following the announcement, Oksana Skybinska – Head of Delegation for Ukraine – said:
We are starting a new season of preparations for Ukraine’s Eurovision entry, this time in Basel, and we are preparing new surprises.

As well as this, Mykola Chernotytskyi, Head of the Managing Board at Suspilne Ukraine, said he was happy the nation would continue to participate. He explained that Eurovision is a key element of cultural diplomacy, and Suspilne will do everything possible to ensure that Ukraine is represented in the best way.
Ukraine’s Eurovision journey
Ukraine is one of the most successful countries to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. The country has scored nine top-five placements, with an extra four top-ten finishes. Ukraine won the Contest three times – in 2004, 2016 and 2022 respectively. Ukraine made history for being the first ex-Soviet country to win the Contest more than once.
In 2024, alyona alyona and Jerry Heil represented Ukraine in Malmö with their song “Teresa and Maria”. The duo finished in 3rd place, scoring 453 points – of which 146 points came from the jury, whilst the remaining 307 points came from the televote.
