French broadcaster France Television has revealed that Junior Eurovision 2020 winner Valentina and Stéphane Bern will serve as commentators for France at this year’s Junior Eurovision.

About the commentators
Valentina is known for representing France at Junior Eurovision 2020 with “J’Imagine”, which ended up winning the contest, and giving the country their first win in the competition.
Bern is a French-Luxembourgish presenter who has commentated Junior Eurovision for France since 2018. He also serves as the commentator for France at the finale of adult Eurovision, and since 2021 has co-hosted Eurovision France, c’est vous qui décidez, France’s national final for Eurovision.
France’s Junior Eurovision Journey
France took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004. Represented by Thomas Pontier singing “Si on voulait bien”, France finished in 6th place earning 78 points. However, the country withdrew from the Contest, citing a ‘Eurovision overkill’. France would not rejoin the Contest until 2018. Since then, France has become a Junior Eurovision powerhouse, finishing in the top 5 in each of their four subsequent participations. France won the 2020 edition of the Contest, with Valentina singing “J’imagine”. In 2022, France won for a second time with Lissandro’s song “Oh Maman”.
France participated in the 2023 Junior Euroision Song Contest with Zoe Clauzure and the song “Cœur”. They won the contest for a second time in a row, achieving a total of 228 points. Zoe came first in the jury vote with 136 points, as well as first place in the online vote with 92 points. This 3rd win makes France the joint most successful Junior Eurovision country alongside Georgia.
