Seven months after his announcement as Cyprus’ 2025 Eurovision representative, Theo Evan will release his song for the contest on Tuesday, March 11th.

Cyprus’ Eurovision entry to be revealed Tuesday

CyBC announced that the song, whose title is not yet known, will premiere on their main news bulletin at 19:00 CET that evening, and will be made available on streaming and YouTube shortly after. Dimitris Kontopoulos, Elsie Bay, NYMAN, and Linda Dale have previously been announced as the songwriters.

Borja Rueda to choreograph

While much about Theo Evan’s song is still under wraps, we know that it will likely be another dance entry. CyBC revealed on 25th February that Spanish choreographer Borja Rueda will choreograph this year’s stage show.

In recent years, Cyprus has often used accomplished choreographers, including Kelly Sweeney and Guy Groove last year. Rueda is not only experienced across a variety of mediums–his resume boasts such musical theatre productions as Company–but also familiar with the Eurovision scene, having worked on Junior Eurovision 2024 and Benidorm Fest 2024.

His staging director, Sergio Jaen, is also Spanish, and has a diverse portfolio of direction and production work that spans Junior Eurovision 2024, Dua Lipa, and Bambie Thug.

Cyprus’ Eurovision journey

The Mediterranean nation made its debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981, where Island participated with the song “Monika” and place 6th. Since then, Cyprus has participated 40 times, appearing in the Grand Final 33 times.

In 2024, CyBC internally selected Silia Kapsis to represent them in Malmö with the song “Liar”. During her participation in Malmö, Silia qualified for the final, before going on to finish in 15th place with a total of 78 points. The juries gave Cyprus 34 points, whilst the televote awarded Silia 44 points.
