Ahead of the newly renamed national final on March 8th, further details about the San Marino Song Contest format have been revealed.

San Marino Song Contest format sees changes

In previous years, San Marino’s national selection involved the winner being determined exclusively by a jury. Traditionally, the jury would listen to the songs during the course of the show and make their judgments then. However, this year the San Marino Song Contest format has changed.

Now, the jury – made up of journalists and musicians – will listen to the competing songs ahead of the Contest. These will then be re-ranked by the jury during the course of the live show. The sum of the jury’s results will ultimately decide the winner of the San Marino Song Contest.

RTV San Marino has already revealed the names of the jurors who will make the final decision. The names include Italian radio DJs, marketing directors and the Director-General of RTV San Marino. In total, twenty acts will take part in the San Marino Song Contest. Those competing are:

San Marino’s Eurovision journey

Since then they have participated in the competition 14 times, qualifying for the grand final in three. Their best result was in 2019, with Serhat and “Say Na Na Na”.

Spanish band Megara represented San Marino in 2024 with the song “11:11”. They failed to qualify from the second semifinal, placing fourteenth and receiving sixteen points from the televote.
