🇺🇦 That Eurovision Preview: Who are Ziferblat?

Eurovision in Basel is just over a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2025 journey so far. Up next, we will preview Ukraine’s Ziferblat.

Ziferblat’s Eurovision Journey So Far

The Eurovision 2025 representative for Ukraine was selected via its selection ‘Vidbir’, after achieving the most votes from the jury and public combined. Since their win, the band revamped their entry. It has been revealed that Ziferblat will be performing 5th in the first semi-final on May 13.

Ukraine will be participating in Eurovision 2025 with “Bird of Pray”, which was written by band members Daniel Leshchynskyi, Fedir Khodakov, and Valentyn Leshchynskyi.

Who are Ziferblat?

Ziferblat are a three piece band from Ukraine who rose to fame in 2019 after appearing on the Ukrainian version of X-Factor. They released their debut album Peretvorennya (Transformation) in 2023. After finishing second with “Place I Call Home”. Ziferblat have won numerous awards in the Ukrainian music industry, as well as having some of their songs included in the soundtrack of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl

Ukraine’s Eurovision Journey

Ukraine is one of the most successful countries to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. The country has scored nine top-five placements, with an extra four top-ten finishes. Ukraine won the Contest three times – in 2004, 2016 and 2022 respectively. Ukraine made history for being the first ex-Soviet country to win the Contest more than once.

In 2024 alyona alyona and Jerry Heil represented Ukraine in Malmö with their song “Teresa and Maria”. The duo finished in 3rd place, scoring 453 points – of which 146 points came from the jury, whilst the remaining 307 points came from the televote.
