Mamagama - representing Azerbaijan

With Eurovision 2025 now just one month away, several countries are making their final preparations for the Contest. Now, Mamagama from Azerbaijan have given some small details regarding their performance in Basel.

Mamagama will not be alone on stage

It is already known that Mamagama will have a large creative team around their performance. This includes Ace Bowerman – also in charge of the UK entry, and Jorge António. Jorge has been tasked with the band’s choreography for their performance in Basel.

Upon learning of the news, Jorge shared his excitement, saying this was his first time working at the Contest. He also appeared to share a photo of rehearsals, which included three dancers. As a result, Mamagama will not be alone on stage, and will instead be joined by Quincy Denzel, Melissa Kanza and Valentina Dekker. All three will also provide backing vocals for the band.

Further details regarding Mamagama’s staging have yet to be revealed, but will be discovered in due course.

Azerbaijan’s Eurovision journey

Azerbaijan is a powerhouse in Eurovision, first debuting in 2008 with the song “Day After Day” by Elnur & Samir, finishing 8th. The country has since gone on to achieve five top-5 performances, including one win in 2011. Azerbaijan has an impressive qualification record, only failing to make the final in 2018, 2023, and 2024.

Azerbaijan internally selected Fahree and Ilkin Dolatov to represent them in 2024 with the song “ÖzünlÉ™ apar”; they scored eleven points in the first semifinal, placing fourteenth and missing out on the Grand Final for a second year in a row.
