🇦🇱 That Eurovision Preview: Who are Shkodra Elektronike?

Eurovision in Basel is less than a month away. In the lead-up to the start of rehearsals, we will get to know a bit more about this year’s artists, their discography, and their Eurovision 2025 journey so far. Next up, we will preview Albania’s Shkodra Elektronike.

Shkodra Elektronike’s Eurovision Journey So Far

In line with previous years, Albania selected Shkodra Elektronike via Festivali i Këngës, where the duo won the right to be their representative after receiving the most votes overall from the Jury, Diaspora and Public Vote. In Eurovision 2025, Shkodra Elektronike will be performing twelfth on Semi-Final One on May 13.

Albania will be participating in Eurovision 2025 with their entry “Zjerm”, which was written by the duo themselves alongside Lekë Gjeloshi.

Who are Shkodra Elektronike?

Kolë Laca and Beatriçe Gjergji formed the folktronica duo Shkodra Elektronike, named after their home city of Shkodër in Albania’s North West. They would begin to gain traction in their native Albania in 2020 with the release of their first singles. Before participating in, and winning Albania’s Festival i Këngës with their song “Zjerm” they had also as songwriters in the festival’s 60th edition for Rezarta Smaja’s “E jemja nuse”.

Albania’s Eurovision Journey

In 2004, Albania made their debut into the Eurovision Song Contest with Anjeza Shahini with “Image of You”, which placed 7th in the final. Since their debut, Albania has participated 20 times, and made the final 10 times. They achieved their best result in 2012, where Rona Nishliu placed 5th with “Suus”.

Besa represented Albania in 2024 with the song “Titan”. “Titan” performed in the second semi-final, where it ultimately placed fifteenth out of sixteen, receiving 14 points from the televote.
