Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne has announced that acclaimed rap artist alyona alyona, Ukraine’s representative at Eurovision 2024, will co-write songs for finalists in the Junior Eurovision 2025 national selection. The announcement was made during a press conference at the Ukraine Media Centre in Kyiv.

A star songwriter lends her experience

alyona alyona was not present at the press conference, but sent a video message to the future contestants:

 I am very sorry that I cannot be present in person, but I have the opportunity to convey all my emotions and words to you. I want to say that it is a great honor for me to be involved in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. And to convey my extensive experience as a songwriter, so that it can be useful and useful. And, perhaps, I will help some song or child become better, do something good. And perhaps, even my song will represent Ukraine at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest – 2025. Thank you for the opportunity. I wish everyone good luck and victory, and see you later.

Together, they’ll craft original songs for the six finalists advancing to the live final, set to air in October 2025. The live final is scheduled for October 2025, where the winner will be chosen to represent Ukraine at Junior Eurovision 2025 in Tbilisi.

Ukraine’s Junior Eurovision journey

In 2006, Ukraine made their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, with Nazar Slyusarchuk and the song “Khlopchyk Rock ‘n’ Roll” (Хлопчик рок ‘н’ ролл), which placed 9th. Since their debut, the Eastern European nation has participated 17 times, and even won once in 2012 with Anastasiya Petryk and her song “Nebo” (Небо).

Following a fifth place in 2023, Ukraine achieved another top-five finish in 2024, when Artem Kotenko and his song “Hear Me Now” placed third. He placed second in both individual voting categories, receiving 122 points from the jury and 81 from the televote, but was ultimately beaten out by Georgia and Portugal, respectively.
