🇫🇮 Mikael Gabriel – “Illat”
Mikael Gabriel teamed up with Estonian rapper nublu to compete in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2024, with their bilingual song “Vox populi.” Latest single from the musician “Illat” is an electro-rap record, full of deep bass and electronic beats. Mikael is a talented rapper and musician in his own right, and this latest single shows that in a contemporary and fun way.
🇪🇪 INGER – “Crazy – Cover”
Aside from being a successful singer, songwriter and football, INGER has also gained recognition for many appearances in Estonia’s Eesti Laul national final, most recently in 2023 with the song “Awaiting You”. The Estonian singer has released a number of singles so far in 2026, but latest record sees INGER take on Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy”, giving it an acoustic cover. This is a beautiful reinvention of the famous track, really giving it new life.
🇦🇺 Ella Hooper – “Cowboy Man”
Ella competed in 2019’s Australia Decides national final for Eurovision, placing 10th with “Data Dust”. The singer-songwriter from down under has been releasing an array of singles in recent months, and also found time to appear on the new Bachelor Girl project alongside other Aussie Eurovision icons. This week, Ella has released “Cowboy Man”. The track, like much of Ella’s recent music, is an Australian country song, highlighting both her vocal abilities and her musical and songwriting skills.
🇪🇸 José Otero – “Hoy”
José Otero appeared in last week’s list, and it’s clear the Spanish musician is busy in recent weeks! Otero appeared in the 2023 edition of Spain’s Benidorm Fest, where he placed 4th with “Inviernos en Marte”. The song was written by José himself, alongside long time collaborator Karen Méndez with whom he featured on last week’s round-up. This week sees José in a completely different musical style, featuring on Romanian DJ ReMan’s latest big dance track “Hoy”.
🇮🇹 Fred De Palma – “RAGAZZINO”
Fred De Palma performed the song “Il cielo non ci vuole” during the 2024 edition of Italy’s Festival di Sanremo. The latest single from Fred sees him work with frequent collaborator Cino, a well known producer and hit maker in Italy. Cino has his own links to the Contest, serving as an official National Jury member for Italy during the Eurovision Song Contest held in Vienna, in 2015. He has also written and produced a number of entries that have competed in Sanremo in recent years. Together, their track “RAGAZZINO” is a modern take on electro-rap, with classic Italian flair.
🇵🇹 No Maka – “Mulher Bonita”
No Maka placed 11th in the 2024 edition of Portugal’s Festival da Canção with the song “Aceitar”. The duo are influenced by Latin and African beats, and latest single “Mulher Bonita” is no different. The song blends afro-pop, reggaeton and latin sounds with modern Portugese pop, creating a light and enjoyable finished single from No Maka.
🇩🇰 Jack Rowan – “Rom blev ikke drukket på en dag”
Jack took part in Denmark’s Dansk Melodi Grand Prix national final back in 2013, with the song “Invincible” alongside British singer and songwriter Sam Gray. The entry was eliminated in the first round of the national final and did not advance to the superfinal, which was won by eventual Eurovision winner Emelie de Forest and her song “Only Teardrops”. The latest music to feature Jack sees him join forces with Pirate dance music entrepreneurs 8ball for a remix of their song “Rom blev ikke drukket på en dag”. It’s somehow a blend of pirate rap, rock, and at the same completely camp euro-dance. And yet it… works?

🇮🇹 Laura Pausini – “SIAMO SOLI NELL’IMMENSO VUOTO CHE C’È”
Italian Eurovision host Laura Pausini will be well remembered by Eurovision fans as the songstress who co-hosted the 2022 edition of the Contest in Turin. The singer is a star in Italy, and across Europe, and has the back catalogue to prove it. Laura’s latest single is a rocky, electro-pop record in the form of “SIAMO SOLI NELL’IMMENSO VUOTO CHE C’È”. This song was clearly written to be performed in an arena setting, and would’ve made a perfect addition to the multi-song opening Laure performed at the start of the Grand Final in Turin.
🇩🇪 Helene Fischer – “An meiner Seite”
Helene Fischer acted as Germany’s jury spokesperson back in 2014, awarding the jury points from Germany at the Contest in Copenhagen. The German schlager queen has also covered many Eurovision anthems over the years, most notably taking on Loreen’s “Euphoria” and Barbara Pravi’s “Voilá”. The latest single from Fischer comes in the form of big, schlager EDM track “An meiner Seite”. This feels like the perfect late night fun fair song.
🇦🇿 EMIN – “Если не любишь”
Emin Agalarov, stage name EMIN, performed as an interval act during the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. He gave a mesmerising performance of his track “Never Enough” during the interval. EMIN is a huge name across Europe, and has had a career spanning more than 2 decades so far. The latest single from EMIN comes in the form of smooth, sultry guitar ballad “Если не любишь”.
