Six more names have been rumored by the Swedish media as potential participants for Melodifestivalen 2027, Sweden’s national selection for Eurovision 2027.

The next name is another new name and another Idol contestant who placed third in 2020, Caspar Camtiz. According to a source that heard his track, they say “[i]t’s hard to describe his song. It’s unique—just like he is.”
A trio puts their hat in the ring
The penultimate name on the list is new coming trio Dom Första. They formed in 2021, and since then released several hit songs like ‘Stockholm lämnar sår’ and ‘Be för mig’. Their most successful song, ‘Om du vil’, has almost 9 million streams on Spotify.

The final name on the list is Melodifestivalen 2019 participant Bishara. He was runner up that year with ‘On My Own’. In the past, he had no plans to apply for Melodifestivalen but was open to the idea that “anything can happen”. According to sources, “[h]e submitted a song last year…but was turned down”

Sweden’s Eurovision journey
In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).
In 2026, Melodifestivalen was won by FELICIA, singing “My System”. FELICIA qualified for the Grand Final of Eurovision in Vienna, maintaining Sweden’s near perfect track record from the semi-finals. The country has only narrowly lost out on a place in the Grand Final once, in 2010. At the close of voting in the grand final, FELICIA received 51 points, finishing in 20th place. 35 points were given by the juries, while she received 16 points by televoters.
