🇸🇪 Four more names rumoured for Melodifestivalen 2027

Another day, another name: the rumour mill continues to shape what could be the line-up for Melodifestivalen 2027, Sweden’s Eurovision 2027 selection. Aftonbladet has reported four more names that could potentially be in the mix to participate in next year’s selection.

A theatre actress in the mix

We start our round-up with another new name in the mix, and that is Joanné Nugas, who is a theatre actress. She has appeared in the lead role of Max Martin’s music &Juliet, as well as being the voice of Ariel in the remake of The Little Mermaid in 2023, with a source saying that thanks to the success of & Juliet, she’s now ready for Mello.

A rockband in the mix

The next name in the mix is the rockband ‘ENVYYOU’, a quartet that was formed in Malmö in 2020. The band has released numerous singles, with their single “Stick Around” amassing over 4 million streams. Aftonbladet reports that SVT is aware of the importance of rock in the competition, and is glad that is able to showcase a new rockband according to its source.

Redemption era for this returnee?

Our penultimate artist in this round-up is a returnee in the form of Nomi Tales, who made her debut in the contest in 2025 with “Funniest Thing”. Despite being a favourite with fans, she was eliminated in her heat. Since taking part, she has released four new singles.

One of the biggest hip-hop artists in the mix?

Finishing this round-up is a newcomer in the form of Imenella, who is one of the biggest hip-hop artists in Sweden. According to Aftonbladet’s sources SVT is very happy in potentially securing Imenella for next year’s selection. Before breaking through as an artist, Imenella was a dancer and choreographer. Since releasing music, she has worked with numerous artists, including Bladë (previously known as ISA)

Sweden’s Eurovision journey

In 1958, Sweden made their debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, with Alice Babs representing them with the song “Lilla stjärna” which placed fourth. Since their debut, the Scandinavian nation has managed to win seven times (1974, 1984, 1991, 1999, 2012, 2015 and 2023).

In 2026, Melodifestivalen was won by FELICIA, singing “My System”. FELICIA qualified for the Grand Final of Eurovision in Vienna, maintaining Sweden’s near perfect track record from the semi-finals. The country has only narrowly lost out on a place in the Grand Final once, in 2010. At the close of voting in the grand final, FELICIA received 51 points, finishing in 20th place. 35 points were given by the juries, while she received 16 points by televoters.
